Fast-Track Your Sustainability Goals with More Green Energy Options From PSO
PSO is proposing several new Green Energy Choice Tariff (GECT) options to give you maximum operational flexibility and cost-effective ways to attain your sustainability goals. Several new offerings were filed with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission in November. PSO hopes gain approval to offer these new options to customers beginning in mid-2023.
Similar to PSO’s current WindChoice program, the options all incorporate Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), which give you the right to claim the benefits of emissions reduction in a measurable way. One REC is equivalent to 1 MWh. PSO’s REC options are designed to help meet your organization’s sustainability goals, with an additional option to help protect against future fuel price volatility.
The proposed Green Energy Choice options are shown below at a glance. Please note that Option A is the current WindChoice program, and the cost will be lowered from the current rate of $0.0048/kWh to a new, lower cost of $0.0032/kWh as shown below beginning December 30, 2022.
Choose the option that best supports your priorities and lock in your program today. Feel good about achieving your goals while supporting local and regional renewable generation facilities.
PSO is currently working with customers to gauge interest in these options and to pre-subscribe those who wish to secure their spot in one of the new programs. For more information or to pre-subscribe to one of these options, please contact your PSO account representative.
PSO is committed to powering a brighter, cleaner future. Here are some facts about our renewable efforts:
- PSO boasts more than 675-megawatts (MW) of wind generation as part of our PSO-owned capacity mix.
- PSO is working to secure an additional 1,350MW of solar energy and 2,800MW of wind energy capacity to meet the growing demand for renewable energy.
- By the end of 2022, PSO will have invested close to $1 billion into clean energy facilities. Among these investments are Oklahoma wind farms Traverse, Sundance, and Maverick, which have the latest cold-weather packages to increase performance during extreme weather.
- The 998-MW Traverse wind farm – co-owned by PSO and SWEPCO – features 356-turbines and is the largest wind farm built at one time in North America.
