Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) is headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and we have proudly served Tulsa since 1913. We value our relationship with the City of Tulsa and all of our Tulsa customers, as we partner together to continue to create our vibrant community. Our product, electricity, plays a major role in the equitable economic growth, empowerment and quality of life for all Tulsans. Outstanding customer service for our customers is a core tenet and guiding principle of PSO. This principle includes ensuring that our electricity infrastructure delivers reliable, resilient and affordable electricity to our customers. Each year, we identify infrastructure projects, based on data analytics, which can improve the reliability and resiliency of our electricity grid. Improvements resulting from these projects, through new technology, electricity system upgrades, and innovations, continue to provide a continuously higher level of service to our customers to meet their business and personal needs.
Northern regional area of Tulsa — 7,772 PSO customers
PSO customers can expect the number of outages to decrease and restoration times shortened when those outages do occur. Overall reliability and resilience of our electricity power grid will be enhanced. Project Description: Installation of automation equipment and technology devices on PSO's electrical power grid and associated upgrades required to facilitate the transfer of electricity delivery during outage situations. This project will benefit 7,772 customers in the northern regional area of Tulsa.
The project scope includes the installation of infrastructure upgrades, such as line switches, control equipment, communication equipment, and substation components on six circuits (feeder lines) originating from PSO's Tulsa Pine & Peoria Substation, as well as associated power line upgrades necessary to automate our electricity grid in this area. These components form a circuit (feeder line) reconfiguration scheme that monitors the flow of electrical current and automatically re-routes the flow of power to portions of our electricity grid that are unaffected by the cause of a power outage. The damaged portion of our grid is then de-energized. The process of automatically reconfiguring our electricity grid, known as "self-healing", creates substantial reliability and safety benefits for customers in the area.
