Earn cash for your business with PSO's Peak Performers!
Curious how to add savings to your bottom line? The Peak Performers program rewards businesses of all sizes for limiting energy use during times of high demand.
How does it work?
When demand for energy is high, during summer’s hottest days, PSO calls on its team of more than 250 Peak Performers to help. Once a peak event is called, you decide how to reduce your business’s energy usage. PSO will then pay you based on how much energy you saved over the peak season (June – September).
- Businesses of all sizes can participate.
- You’ll be notified of peak events before they occur.
- You can participate in as many or as few peak events as you like.
- Get cash back based on the average kilowatts you saved at the end of the season.
- Enrollment is simple and can be completed online.
What are the benefits?
Helps Keep Electricity Costs Stable
If energy usage were to remain high over a sustained period, PSO would have to build new power plants, and the cost of new facilities would drive up electricity costs for everyone. Peak Performers is designed to reduce electricity use in our communities during peak times to help prevent that.
Earn Rewards for Participating
PSO will pay your company $32 per Average Kilowatt Savings. If you participate in all peak events, PSO will pay you a bonus equal to 5% of your Average Kilowatt Savings payment. Since 2013, PSO has paid more than $11 million in incentives. Check out these tips on ways to save energy during a peak event.
Ensures Reliability of Electrical Grid
Your participation helps make sure that you and your neighbors have reliable access to power during periods of high demand. Lowering your electricity usage when demand is high helps offset the need for costly grid upgrades and new power plants, which in turn reduces greenhouse gas emissions.
Participation Is Voluntary
Participation is completely voluntary and PSO does not control any of your facility’s equipment. Participating businesses may opt out of any peak event without penalty.
