FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TULSA, Okla. (January 24, 2024) –Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking additional generation resources.
The RFP seeks up to 1,500 megawatts of additional power generating capacity to be in service no later than December 15, 2028.
The RFP includes all sources, such as natural gas, wind, solar and energy storage proposals. PSO is open to acquiring energy through a variety of channels such as Power Purchase Agreements, Purchase and Sale Agreements, and Capacity Purchase Agreements.
The RFP gives special consideration to Oklahoma projects, a move designed to keep economic benefits in the state.
“This Request for Proposals will help maintain a diverse, balanced generation portfolio that will serve our customers for many years,” said PSO President and Chief Operating Officer Leigh Anne Strahler. “We are pursuing this process with an open mind and a determination to choose the best solutions to meet our customers’ needs.”
